PurpleTV ReVive

Third-party emotes, badges, pronouns and a pile of chat quality-of-life tweaks for the official Twitch app for Android. A continuation of the great work of PurpleTV and bttv-android.

Scope: Twitch (tv.twitch.android.app). Restart Twitch after enabling.

Features

  • 7TV, BetterTTV, FrankerFaceZ and Homies emotes in chat, animated ones included, with each channel's own pictures.
  • Emote autocomplete: start typing an emote name, no colon needed. Hold an emote to pin it to the top, or to add it to the favorites bar.
  • Favorites bar at the top of the emote picker, optionally per streamer.
  • Third-party badges (FFZ, Chatterino, DankChat, Chatsen, Homies) and pronouns.
  • Deleted messages shown struck through or greyed, timestamps with seconds, highlights, blacklist, /me styling, username display style, vibrate on mention.
  • Auto-claim channel points.
  • Player: brightness and volume swipes, sleep timer, skip the external link warning.
  • Hide clutter: hype train, leaderboards, chat header, Bits button, Follow/Subscribe, create button and more.

Settings: open Twitch's own Settings screen; PurpleTV is the first row.

What it will never do

No ad blocking, and no money-related mods of any kind. Ads and subscriptions are how Twitch and its streamers get paid.

Notes

  • Passkey sign-in cannot work on a patched (LSPatch) build; use your password or the Google, Amazon or Apple buttons. LSPosed users are not affected.
  • Any client modification is against Twitch's Terms of Service. Use at your own risk.

On a fresh install, the emote pictures you are looking at (suggestions, favorites bar) now load first instead of waiting behind thousands of others, and your own emotes keep their pictures across channel switches.

Links inside chat announcements can now be tapped (Twitch never made them tappable). The emote tap handler also passes everything it does not need on to Twitch instead of replacing Twitch's own touch handling.

Push notifications now work on patched builds: Firebase sign-up gets Twitch's official certificate fingerprint on that one request. Switch it off under PurpleTV settings, Dev, Fix push notifications. On the original Twitch app (LSPosed) nothing changes.

First release on the LSPosed module repository.

  • 7TV, BTTV, FFZ and Homies emotes and badges, emote autocomplete with pinning, a favorites bar (any emote, optionally per streamer), deleted messages, timestamps, highlights, blacklist, pronouns, auto-claim channel points, player gestures, sleep timer and hide options.
  • No ad blocking, and nothing money related.

Already using PurpleTV ReVive from GitHub? This listing uses a new module ID. Uninstall the old PurpleTV XP / PurpleXposed module first, so the two are not both active. Your settings are kept, since they live inside the Twitch app.
